Edward Hutchins is a lovable little boy with a good
sense of humor. He accepts life with the group with pleasure. He knows how
to settle down to things he wants to do, and he is not defenseless when facing
aggressive behavior from others.
He has a good relation with the teacher, and even likes
to talk about problems with her. One day, when the word "boss" was mentioned,
he asked me, "Who is the boss of all?" And when I looked questioningly, he
told me triumphantly, "God." During the first weeks he often brought Christian
Science literature to school and became worried when he had mislaid it.
Edward likes to entertain the group by bringing good
records from home. When we play records, he sits and listens very
attentively.
He enjoys any kind of creative activity, settles down
to drawing (crayons) regularly. Not long ago he drew cute funny faces with
a pencil.
In movements which involve the large muscles he is not
yet quite free. When the other children run around, he often sits with the
teacher talking. He is not especially attached to any of the children, but
usually gets along easily with all. He is a good influence in the group and
we like him very much.
